Scooters Warranty

Due to the inherent nature of the sport and industry of freestyle scooters most distributors and their manufacturers have very limited warranties that cover direct manufacturing faults or failures in their products. As with all extreme sports, scooter equipment suffers damage as a direct result of participation in the sport. Such damage to equipment is not covered under warranty.

In accordance with the Metrikx CUSTOMER CHARTER OF SERVICE, our goal is to process your warranty claim as quickly and efficiently as possible. Before proceeding with your warranty claim please note the following guidelines in regards to the manufacturer’s warranties:

  • A MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY WILL ONLY COVER A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. IT DOES NOT COVER DAMAGE INFLICTED BY IMPACT ON THE SCOOTER.
  • Any warranty is void on items that show clear misuse or damage caused by or related to improper riding technique.
  • Most manufacturers will also not cover warranty claims on items that show excessive or obvious wear directly or indirectly related to the claim.
  • Any modification to a product will void the distributors warranty for that individual part as well as any associated parts.
  • A warranty is only approved if the breakage or malfunction of the scooter is a DIRECT RESULT OF A FLAW IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE PRODUCT. Damage, breakage, cracking or snapping of the product as a result of riding WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY!
  • No warranty on grippes.

If you are still unsure or have a genuine problem that sounds like a manufacturing defect please send a email to:

Is my scooter faulty and is it a manufacturing warranty?

My wheel has dehubbed

There are two kinds "dehubs". A real dehubbed wheel will have no marks in the metal or plastic rim. This is a manufacturing problem were the PU has not boned correctly to the rim of the wheel. The wheel PU will just push off the rim.

Scooter Wheel Dehubbing

A dehubbed wheel can be caused when your scooter takes a hard sideways impact. Scooter tricks such as Bri's are the most common cause of this. If you chunk the wheel or debub it in this fashion then unfortunately its classed as wear and tear and will not be warranted by the manufacturer. Wheels are classed as wearing part and will need to be replaced after time like car tyres.

My griptape fell off

Make sure your grip tape is pressed all the way down around the scooter before you go on your first run. If you don't do this then the griptape can peel and fall off. Also using griptape in the wet will dramatically reduce the life span causing the grip to fall off or wear thin.

To make your grip last longer avoid mud and water! Grip tape is a cheap wareable part.

All Scooter decks are prone to failure – it’s a fact, as they are constantly grinded and put under extreme pressures.

Tips to make your deck last longer:

– Always land with your knees bent to absorb the shock

– Avoid grinding on rough concrete
– Limit the amount of fly outs you do
– Never throw your scooter
